Bridport Market

Weekly Wednesday and Saturday Markets take place in Bridport’s three main streets throughout the year, from 8am until mid afternoon. A range of outdoor market stalls sell local produce, clothing and jewellery, antiques and flowers and plants.

Mapperton House and Gardens

Mapperton House has a beautiful valley garden surrounding an Elizabethan manor house with church, stable block, coach house, dovecote and courtyard. It’s only a 10-minute drive from Mangerton so definitely worth the trip.

Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club

This 18 hole golf course is only a 10 minute drive away and offers sea views that stretch across Lyme Bay and along Chesil Beach. The club also offers a restaurant, lounge and spikes bar, as well as a Driving Range and Putting Green. The course is open all year round. There are other courses not so far away too such as Lyme Regis GC.

Portland

Portland is about a 40 minute drive from Mangerton house, along the famous and beautiful Dorset coast road. It's a lovely place to go for a scenic coastal walk, especially at sunset! We recommend driving to Portland Bill and visiting the infamous light house. There is also Tout Quarry Nature Reserve and Sculpture Park which is an abandoned stone quarry which has now been turned into a stone sculpture park. The park is also a haven for nature especially for those with a love of wild flowers and butterflies.

Bridport Museum

The museum is in the centre on Bridport and would be perfect for a short trip out. The museum covers the history of the Jurassic coast with fossils and some amazing roman jewellery! They offer fun activities ideal for children too so check out the website to see what’s going on.

Furleigh Estate

Furleigh Estate is a local winery that offers tours around the vineyard, as well as wine and local cheese tasting on a Friday and Saturday. Led by a knowledgeable guide you can explore the grounds that offer a lovely insight into the nearby countryside.
